About TechVision Leaders and Access Technology

Empowering Blind and Visually Impaired Students Globally

Integrating Advanced Technology in Education

Under Dr. Denise M. Robinson’s leadership, and her highly skilled TechVision Leaders have significantly impacted global education for blind students. By integrating technologies like computers, screen readers, braille displays, phones, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) into teaching, we transform educational access. This enables full participation in academics and daily life. Moreover, TechVision leaders provide access training to school personnel and teachers. This equips schools with essential tech skills to foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Personalized Instruction and Empowerment

Personalized instruction lies at the core of our philosophy at TechVision. TechVision leaders and access training tailor programs to meet the specific needs of each student and client. This approach extends to providing specialized training for educators, ensuring that all individuals can independently access information and complete tasks efficiently whether transcribing work or mastering keyboard commands to aid student recall. As a result, our students and clients achieve parity with their sighted peers in academic, professional, and social settings.

Championing Inclusion

Inclusion is foundational to our mission at TechVision.  Therefore, we believe that everyone, regardless of visual impairment, deserves the opportunity to participate fully and be included in education and life. Our commitment to inclusion is demonstrated through comprehensive video lessons that highlight real-world technology use. These resources are invaluable for students and educators alike, helping them thrive in diverse environments and seamlessly integrate into classrooms and broader communities. TechVision leaders and access training play a crucial role in developing these inclusive practices.

Global Reach and Collaborative Efforts

TechVision’s global reach is a testament to our effective methods and dedicated team. We provide high-quality education to visually impaired learners worldwide through remote instruction and digital resources. Our collaborative efforts extend to working with families, school districts, businesses, private entities, and vocational programs to foster educational and employment opportunities. TechVision leaders and access training enhance the educators’ ability to effectively assist visually impaired students.

Role of Technology in Education

Technology plays a significant role in our mission. At TechVision, we ensure that both students and teachers can effectively use tools like screen readers, phones, braille displays and more. Our educational strategies encourage the practical application of these skills in real-world scenarios, which builds confidence and fosters independence among our students.

AI Integration in Educational Programs

At TechVision, integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into our programs involves employing innovative approaches to enhance learning experiences. As one component, AI-powered learning tools adapt to the individual needs of students, providing personalized and dynamic learning experiences. Additionally, Voice recognition on computers or phones and image recognition technologies facilitate interaction with devices and access to printed materials, transforming them into accessible formats. AI also supports navigation and mobility, enabling students to navigate independently in various environments. Furthermore, our smart assistants, powered by AI, assist students in managing daily tasks and academic queries, making everyday interactions smoother and more accessible.

Early Education and Long-Term Planning

Along with beginning education early, in preschool, ensures that students stay on par with their sighted peers by the time they reach kindergarten. At TechVision, we prefer to start instruction at age 3, but all ages are welcome as instruction enables students to read braille and digitally output their work, mirroring the activities of their sighted peers who use pencils by kindergarten.

Teachers in schools or work environments are comfortable seeing a PC on a student’s desk. Consequently, they can provide timely feedback as the student completes their work, just like their peers. Additionally, our tech-proficient teachers directly teach ‘HOW’ to complete tasks using specific keyboard commands. These commands apply to any program needed at school or work, enhancing both independent and group learning experiences

So, as students progress through their educational journey, they learn to adapt and make previously inaccessible work accessible. They become proficient in uploading their work to school platforms, like their peers. TechVision leaders train transcribers and school personnel to ensure work is prepared and accessible. Additionally, this includes providing high-quality embossed tactiles for complex scientific and mathematical concepts. All these access technology skills can translate into successful employment opportunies druing high school or after graduation.

Community Engagement and Support

Community engagement and robust support systems are vital at TechVision. We recognize each student and teacher’s unique needs and aspirations, dedicating ourselves to personalized training and ongoing support. This commitment helps all involved reach their educational and personal goals, fostering a community of empowered learners and educators. By combining our efforts with the dedication of parents and schools, teaming opens up a wide range of possibilities
